Grand Golf Updates!
Sun City Grand Golf Responds to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Update
The health of our residents and staff is a top priority at Sun City Grand. Sun City Grand recognizes the pandemic of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and is taking necessary measures to respond to the health safety risks. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we know that older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease, are at a higher risk of getting very sick from this illness. For such reasons, the Sun City Grand Board of Directors and Community Association Management are implementing mitigation precautions to reduce the likelihood of our residents coming in contact with COVID-19.
In regards to the golf courses, the following items have already been implemented.
-The snack bars are closed for food/beverage but are available for golfers to check-in
-A housekeeper is at each golf shop keeping the facilities sanitized using hospital-grade disinfectants
-Residents now swipe their own CAM and credit cards
-Encouraging golfers to place funds on their credit books to create a quicker check-in
-No congregating before or after your round of golf
Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, the following additional restrictions will be put in place to continue to keep our residents and staff safe.
-All shotgun starts will be cancelled and only tee times will be available
- All prebooks from shotguns will be placed into tee times as close to the shotgun time as possible
- Any player that had a shotgun tee time is cancelled and needs to go online to make a tee time
-Any player wishing to play golf in his/her own cart may do so but the cart rule of only 2 carts allowed on a hole at one time is still in place
-All demo clubs will be placed in the back and not available for use
-No clothing merchandise will be able to be tried on or purchased
-All golf clinics will be cancelled – Cactus Practice
-Private lessons are still available
The decisions above have not been easy to make, and everything again is being done to keep the residents and the employees safe. Our goal is to continue to allow those golfers that wish to golf to continue to do so. We are sorry for any inconvenience but assure you this is for the safety and health for everyone.
