Wanted: Ghosts and Goblins who are ready to party!
The Grand Café is celebrating Halloween with a SPOOKTACULAR special event, TODAY, October 31st from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Our own “Phan-Tim” will be your host, scaring up some “bootiful” drink deals for the outdoor bar. You don’t have to be “witch” to score Happy Hour pricing on beer, wine and mixed drinks here!
All of our team members are getting in the “spirit” and are being transformed into some favorite characters, so don’t be too shocked if you’re being helped by a unicorn, cat, ghost, or even someone “famous”, like the Grand Café’s version of “Al Gore”.
Our Cheese Nachos are getting a “spooky sprinkle” makeover too, just for this event, and you can move to the groove of some wicked tunes, with a DJ getting down out by the bar. So, come on over and “treat” yourself to an afternoon of “Phan-Tim” fun!!!
Grand Café is closing early on Nov. 1
Please note that the Grand Café will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on the following date for a special private, Club party event:

ADOT Siren Testing is Next Week
SCG Residents, the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, is testing the sirens on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. The Palo Verde Emergency Preparedness Department along with state and county emergency management officials will activate the sirens twice. The first test will be at approximately 12:00 p.m. and the second test will be at approximately 12:30 p.m. Please mark your calendar. This is only a test!! Letters have been sent to residents living within a 10-mile radius of Palo Verde informing them of the purpose of the tests along with the date and times. All active sirens within the 10-mile area surrounding the plant are tested annually to ensure proper operation.
To ensure those traveling along Interstate 10, the Arizona Department of Transportation will display a warning on electronic freeway signs just before the test, for eastbound or westbound vehicles approaching the area.
If you have any questions about the test or any other emergency preparedness activities, please call Travis Icard, Palo Verde Emergency Preparedness, who will be glad to discuss these with you. Travis can be reached at 623-393-6128 (office).
